8.1 Switching on the device
8.2 Setting the MFC flow
The MFC flow can be set using a higher-level control system or directly on the device.
8.2.1 Setting the MFC flow with a higher-level control system
 13 Description of interface on page EN-22
When using a higher-level control system with deactivated timeout (factory setting), proceed as follows:
Send mfcto 0 once to the device.
1
Send mfcsp x to the device. x represents the desired value for how many liters of gas flow the device
2
should regulate per minute (set point).
The device then regulates the gas flow rate to the value that was sent with the mfcsp x command.
If the higher-level control system fails and commands are not sent regularly, the device continues to regulate
to the value that was last sent via mfcsp x.
Proceed as follows when using a higher-level control system with activated timeout:
Send mfcto x once to device. x represents the desired timeout value (ms).
1
Send mfcfb x once to the device. x represents the desired value for how many liters of gas flow the device
2
should reset the control to after the set timeout.
Periodically send mfcsp x to the device. x represents the desired value for how many liters of gas flow
3
the device should regulate per minute (set point).
The device then regulates the gas flow rate to the value that was sent with the mfcsp x command.
If the higher-level control system fails and the regular sending of commands is interrupted by more than the
value sent with mfcto x, the device resets the value to mfcfb x.
8.2.2 Setting the MFC flow on the device
 13 Description of interface on page EN-22
The fallback value is displayed under <MFC flow> in the <Parameters> main menu. If the fallback value
should be set using the buttons on the device, the timeout value must be set to a small value using the mfcto
command. The timeout value cannot be changed on the device or in the service software and must be set
using a PC or a higher-level control system.
Proceed as follows if a higher-level control system is not used:
Send mfcto 1 to the device to set the timeout to 1 ms.
1
Set the fallback value under <MFC flow> on the device.
2
If the timeout and fallback values have been configured as described, the device starts regulation to
the value set under <MFC flow> after 1 ms.
