 13 Description of interface on page EN-22
The same data is transmitted via the Ethernet and serial interfaces. If a data set is requested via an interface,
the device sends the reply back via both interfaces. Only one interface may be used, otherwise it is not
possible to uniquely assign a reply to a request. The device is initially passive upon start; communication is
started externally in the form of commands. Each command has a certain number of arguments and the final
[CR][LF] (ASCII: 0x0D 0x0A).

Example 1 – Set basic flow to 9 l/min and save parameters to the flash drive:
1. Send command (set the basic flow):
fmax 9[CR][LF]
(as Ascii: 0x66 0x6D 0x61 0x78 0x20 0x39 0x0D 0x0A)
Expected reply:
fmax 9[CR]
(as Ascii: 0x66 0x6D 0x61 0x78 0x20 0x39 0x0D)
2. Send command (save parameters to the flash drive):
ky[CR][LF]
(as Ascii: 0x6B 0x79 0x0D 0x0A)
Expected reply:
ky done[CR]
(as Ascii: 0x6B 0x79 0x20 0x64 0x6F 0x6E 0x65 0x0D)
Example 2—Read device status:
3. Send command:
on[CR][LF]
(as Ascii: 0x6F 0x6E 0x0D 0x0A)
Expected reply:

TCP/IPv4
Separated by spaces. A reply is sent for each command. The reply
consists in turn of the same command and a specific number of
arguments and the [CR][LF]. There are also commands that produce
a multi-row reply. Multi-row commands are only possible via the serial
interface, not via Ethernet.
If the error is unknown or if the authorization is not sufficient, error
message "err1" is issued. If the command exists, the authorization exists,
but the number of arguments is wrong, error message "err2" is issued. If
the command exists, the authorization exists, the number of arguments is
correct, but the values of the arguments lie outside the permissible limits,
error message "err3" is issued.
All active commands in the current authorization with a short description
are issued with the command "???". The reply has multiple rows.
The authorization level can be changed with the command "pw
[password]". The authorization level can be queried with the command
"pw" (without argument). "Access level [0–3]" is sent as the reply. The
password can be read and changed at the Setter authorization level
(command "cspw xxxx").
