Putting into operation
5.6

Cooling the welding unit

Set the REHM welding unit up in such a way that the air inputs and outputs are
not affected. Only when there is sufficient cooling, it is possible to achieve the
specified duty ratio of the machine.
Ensure that no metal parts, sanding dust, dust or any other foreign objects are
able to enter the unit.
5.7

Water cooling for MIG/MAG welding torch

When using the REHM water cooling unit, you should check the level of water in
the tank before putting it into use. If the level of water has dropped below ¾ of
the tank contents, additional cooling water should be added. The special cooling
medium developed and tested by REHM is specified for use as cooling medium
(order 1680075, 5 litres). The level of cooling water must be checked at regular
intervals.
A detailed description of the REHM water cooling unit can be found in the
separate operating instructions that come with the water cooling unit.
5.8

Connecting the welding leads

The REHM welding units are equipped with quick connect connectors for
attaching earth cables. In order to achieve optimum welding results, ensure that
all welding lead connections have been tightened and that the insulation has not
been damaged.
5.9

Connecting the torch

There is a special connector (euro central connector) on the housing for
connecting the MIG/MAG torch. This enables the connections for welding
current, control cable and gas.
When using water-cooled torches (only possible in conjunction with a REHM
water cooling unit) the cooling water hoses are connected via quick couplings.
These are identified by colour (red=back flow, blue=advance flow).
Important!
When using a gas-cooled torch the water cooling unit must be detached or
the water connection must be connected via a hose bridge to ensure that
the water pump is not damaged.
