Putting into operation
5.1
Safety notes
Read the operating instructions through carefully, particularly Chapter 2,
Safety notes, before putting into operation, and before starting work on this
welding current source.
Warning!
REHM welding units may only be operated and maintained by persons who
have been educated and trained to operate and maintain welding units.
When welding, always wear protective clothing and ensure that other
people in the vicinity of the machine are not endangered by the UV
radiation of the arc.
5.2
Working under increased electrical risks in
accordance with the regulations of IEC 60974,
EN 60 974-1, TRBS 2131 and BGR 500 Chapter
2.26 (previously known as VGB 15)
The REHM MEGAPULS inert gas welding unit meets the regulations above. You
should ensure that when working under increased electrical risk, the power
source is not set up in this area. Observe the regulations set out in EN 60 974-1,
TRBS 2131 and BGR 500 Chapter 2.26 (previously known as VGB 15).
5.3
Setting up the welding unit
Set the REHM welding unit in such a way that the welder has sufficient space in
front of the unit to control the setting elements and to operate it.
Pay attention to the relevant accident regulations when transporting the unit.
CAUTION: The affixing of the MEGAPULS unit to a hanging transportation
method, for example, lines or chains, is not permitted. Affixing on handles
or other parts of the unit is not permitted.
Danger! Electrical voltage!
Do not use the welding unit outside in the rain!
