Configuring the software
i. Alarm notification: CSNET WEB is ready to notify alarms
to the users. These alarms are notified by e-mail. To con-
figure these notifications you have to open the alarm no-
tification dialog clicking on Alarm notification "Change"
button. The configuration is divided in various parts:

Alarm notification: allows enable or disable alarm notifi-
cation function and select between execute this server on
the CSNET WEB HARC or in the computer.

Account details: settings about the SMTP server.

Notify Settings: configuration about the receivers and
the period of the notifications.
The selection between CSNET WEB Interface and Com-
puter identifies which element will execute the mail alarm
function, and in each case it will have different specifica-
tions.
The differences between the configurations are:
Computer
Configuring the mail alarms on the computer is used
-
when CSNET WEB is on a LAN net that does not pass
through a proxy to connect to Internet.

The mail alarms are being sent from the computer
when CSNET WEB software is running, so that the
software cannot be closed.

That connection allows the use of already existing
SMTP servers on the Internet, such as Gmail, Yahoo
or others. These are encrypted connections, so they
can be used.

The e-mail sent has the location information column as
it is managed from the computer and it is powerfull than
CSNET WEB interface.

SMTP server can be encrypted. Gmail, Yahoo or si-
milar.
CSNET WEB Interface:

Configuring the mail alarms on the CSNET WEB Inter-
face is used when CSNET WEB is on a LAN that uses
proxy to connect to Internet.

CSNET WEB device will send the alarm mails using
this SMPT server.

It is required to have a SMPT server on the same LAN
than CSNET WEB.

CSNET WEB Interface cannot connect to a SMTP en-
crypted server
The account details configure the SMTP server. The next
fields compose this configuration:

Name: enter the installation name.
-
E-mail: enter account installation mail.
Delivery Server Address: set the mail server address.

Server Port: set the mail server port.
-

Username: enter the mail username.
-
Password: enter the mail password.
Notify settings configures who will receive the notifications
and what will be the interval of these notifications.

Notify interval: you can set a notification interval of 1, 2,
6, 12 hours or 1 day.

Notify E-Mail Address: sets the name and the e-mail
address of the different receivers

j. Backup copy Clicking on Backup button you can save
your system configuration. If you want ro restore it, you
must click con Restore button.
k. Configuration report: Configuration report prints on a
text file all the settings that CSNET WEB has.
The purpose of that is in case of wrong behavior of the
functions, report the state and help to understand if there
is something not well configured.
