The Drive has safety feature that prevents the boiler from overfilling. It may happen that
the machine does not heat up during initial set-up or when a large amount of water is
dispensed through the hot water valve. In this case, please switch the machine off briefly

and then on again.
Please note that the portafilter, drip tray, cup tray and water tank are not suitable for the
dishwasher.
5.2

Machine in use with direct water connection

1. Connect the metal hose.
2. Set the water connection to operate witha fixed water connection (see chapter 4.3.1 and 4.3.2).
3. Plug the machine into the power outlet and press the power switch (LED ring lights up). The machine
is now turned on. The display shows "Fill."
4. Ensure that the "Flow Control" is opened with at least one turn. For more information, see
chapter 7.2.

Fill mode "Fill"

Place a small container (e.g. a milk jug) under the brew group. Move the brew lever up and the pump
will start to fill the brew boiler. Rinse the machine for at least 30 seconds until water comes out of
the brew group. When you move the the brew lever down „Fill" should have disappeared from the
display.
5. After the brew boiler has been filled, the steam boiler is automatically filled with fresh water.
6. As soon as the filling of the steam boiler is finished, you no longer hear any pump noise.
7. The machine starts heating up the boiler. The PID display shows "Heating Up". You can find out more
about this in chapter 8.7.
8. As soon as the boiler temperature is shown on the display, the machine is ready for use. Place the
cups on the cup tray so that they are always preheated.
Ensure that the machine is placed on a level stable, and water resistance surface.
Rinse the machine with 2 - 3 water tank fillings before making the first coffee. To do
this, allow water to run from the brew group and the hot water pipe. More hot water can
be drawn with the machine turned off (see 9.4).

Always ensure that when the machine is not in use, the brew lever is turned down and
there is a shut-off valve to be able to cut off the water supply at any time.
