3.5 Engine operation — Yanmar
3.5.1 Starting the engine
– Move fuel tap (1) to «O» (open).

– Adjust engine speed control lever (3) to «RUN» (full load).

– Pull the starting handle slowly until you feel resistance (I.).
– Then return the starting handle slowly (II.).

– Push down the decompression lever (4); it will return automat-
ically when the recoil starter is pulled.
L 40_005.cdr
– Pull out the recoil starting handle (3) briskly with both hands.
Do not allow starter handle to rebound against the
engine. Guide starter cable back by hand to reset
position.
Attention
3.5.2 If the engine starts
1 – 2 min.
STOP

– Adjust engine speed control lever (2) to idle position.
– Allow the engine to warm up for 2 ... 3 minutes.
