7. The first Start
a) Switching On/Off
Press the " II" key to switch the device on.
• You can also switch the device on by means
of the "REC/ PAUSE" key.
• If you replace or insert the batteries, the
device is switched on automatically.
If no recording/playback is activated within one minute, the
device switches off automatically.
b) Key Lock On/Off
Press the "MENU/ HOLD" key for approx. 2
seconds. The display indicates "ON HOLD",
see figure right. All keys are deactivated.
To switch off the key lock, please press again
the "MENU/ HOLD" key for approx. 2 seconds.
The display indicates "OFF HOLD".
If the device is in "ON HOLD" mode and it
switches off automatically, the key lock will be
switched off automatically as well.

f) Convert a WAV- Audio File into a SP/ LP Audio
File
Only WAV audio files can be converted which are recor-
ded in 8kHz/ 16bit /mono.
• Select the desired audio file in list Ç.
• Click on button "
" (" CONVERT").
• Select the desired audio mode (SP/ LP):
The WAV audio file is converted into a SP/ LP audio file.
g) Cut an Audio File
• Select a certain position of the audio file by means of the bar bot-
tom right.
• Click on button "
" (" CUT").
• If you would like to cut off the front part (in front of the marked
position), click on button "
to cut off the end part (behind the marked position), click on but-
ton "
" (" FORWARD").
