17. Handling
Never use the Digital Voice Recorder immediately after it has been
brought from a cold into a warm room. Condensation water that
forms might destroy your device.
Leave the Digital Voice Recorder and all accessories switched
off and wait until they have reached room temperature before
using them. This might last several hours.
Do not expose the Digital Voice Recorder to the following
unfavourable conditions, e.g. during transport:
- humidity or extreme air humidity
- extreme cold or heat
- dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- strong magnetic fields, such as near machines or speakers.
USB devices allow connection and disconnection during operation.
Thus, you do not have to switch off the PC when connecting or dis-
connecting devices (with other interfaces this might involve dam-
ages, e.g. if you connect/disconnect a PS/ 2 mouse during opera-
tion).
However, if you are transmitting data via the USB port, e.g. if data
are transmitted between the Digital Voice Recorder and the PC, and
you unplug the USB plug, this might involve
a crash of the application program or damaging of other data as
well.

Do not throw batteries into fire because they might
explode!
Do not short-circuit batteries. Explosion hazard!
Avoid using different battery types or batteries with dif-
ferent states (full/half full). Always replace the whole set
of batteries.
Environmental note!
The user is legally obliged (old battery regulation) to
return all used batteries (from round cells to lead
storage batteries) to a specialist dealer's shop whe-
re there are special facilities (collecting boxes). It is
forbidden to dispose of batteries in the garbage bin
or litter.
You can return your used batteries and storage bat-
teries free of charge either to our subsidiaries or to
our central office in Hirschau or reusable-waste
facilities which are obliged to take back old batte-
ries.
