Replace the cover correctly and close it.
In case the keys of the device do not react any longer, the display is
not activated when switching the device on or the device switches
off when e.g. the recording key is pressed, please replace the bat-
teries by new ones of the same type.
Remove the batteries from the battery compartment if
you do not use the device for a longer period of time.

Do not leave batteries littered because children or pets
might swallow them! In case of batteries being swallo-
wed, call for immediate medical care!
Do not leave empty batteries inside the battery com-
partment, because even leakage-protected batteries
might corrode and release chemicals that are hazardous
to the health and might damage the battery compart-
ment!
Leaky or damaged batteries might cause cauterization
when in contact with the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
Do not recharge batteries. Explosion hazard!

18. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regularly check the technical safety of the product, e.g. for dam-
ages of the housing.
In case of damages, remove the batteries because a short-circuit
might involve heating (danger of fire!). Disconnect the device from
all cables.
If there is room to believe that safe operation has become impossi-
ble put the product out of operation and secure it against unintend-
ed operation. Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer
possible, if:
- the product exhibits visible damage,
- the product does not operate any longer,
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long
period of time or
- the product was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by
transport.
Before any maintenance or repair works, please observe the
following safety instructions:
There are no parts inside the device that have to be
maintained by the user.
Any repair works have to be carried out by a specialist
familiar with the involved dangers and the relevant
statutory requirements. Secure all audio files contained
in the Digital Voice Recorder, e.g. by transmission to a
PC.
Remove the inserted batteries!
