foreseeable loading in cluding that in an emergency
contingency. Prior to using it have the anchor device
checked by a competent person.
The product can be used as a belay for the rescuer
after a single fall – this must only be done if a
suitable structural anchor (tree / branch) is chosen.
(After all, in the type examination, dynamic loading
was tested twice without making any readjustments
of or other corrections to the anchor device.) The
structural anchor (tree / branch) must withstand
more than 12 kN.
– Always attune the length of the anchor device to the
object it is looped around.
– A work positioning system must always be main-
tained as taut as possible from the anchor point to
the belayed person (avoid rope slack).
– WARNING:
When working with fall arrest note that
- an energy absorber according to EN 355 is need-
ed that reduces dynamic forces to max. 6 kN.
- the lanyard including fall arrest systems and
connection elements must not exceed 2 m.
- a clearance of 7m underneath the user is needed
to avoid ground impact.

PRODUCT INFORMATION WITH REGARD TO
EN 795, CLASS B
In individual tests conducted under laboratory
conditions, the following breaking strengths were
measured for the various configurations shown in
pics. a to c. These values are merely rough reference
values, e.g., as the diameter of the object the sling is
wound around will have a major impact on the result.
Pic. a : choke sling on a 34mm diameter bolt: 35 kN
Pic. b: single sling wound around a drum having a
diameter of 250 mm: 20 kN
Pic. c: double sling wound around a drum having a
diameter of 250 mm: karabiner breakage at 40 kN
USE TO EN 354
This lanyard can be used in three possible ways:
A. In a work positioning system (EN 358):
The lanyard is used for positioning the user at the
work site (e.g. work on pylons) so as to allow him/her
to have both hands free. Maximum length including
connectors: 2,0 m
B. In a restraint system (EN 358):
The lanyard prevents the user from reaching a
place from where he/she might fall down (e.g. when
performing work on flat roofs).
Maximum length including connectors: 2,0 m
C. In a fall arrest system (EN 363):
The lanyard catches the user in the event of a fall.
In such case, however, the use of an additional
energy absorber is indispensable, and the lanyard
needs to be fastened to a suspension eye of a
full-body harness.
Maximum length including connectors and shock
absorber: 2,0 m
Only such configurations of lanyards and energy
absorbers may be used that are described as ac-
ceptable in the manufacturer's information leaflet
provided together with the energy absorber. Check
energy absorber and lanyard for their compatibility.
1) Regarding scenarios A and B: Attachment of
the lanyard to a work positioning harness:
