The regulating screws for idle mix and full
charge mix can only be adjusted in a limited
range. These adjusting screws are not intended
for user adjustment.
The following instructions are directed to specialists.
Note: The basic setting applies for the com-
plete, ready-to-operate, assembled device. The
air filter must be clean for correct idle adjust-
ment! Let the motor run until warm.
Idle RPM speed = 2900 RPM
Max. permissible RPM = 9000 RPM
3.If the idle is too high, turn the idle-stop "T"
screw counter clockwise slightly.
If the idle is too low (the motor does not turn over),
then turn the idle-speed stop screw "T" slightly
clockwise until the motor starts to turn over.
The power tool may not move in idle!
Attention: Carburetor adjustment is for
obtaining maximum motor perform-
ance. For adjusting it is absolutely nec-
essary to use an RPM indicator! Adjust
for no higher RPM speed than is speci-
fied, as this can result in motor damage!

9.5 Sparkplug information

FIG. 35
1.The shielded sparkplug (heat rating 200) is
available under the following designation:
BOSCH WS6F
CHAMPION RCJ-6Y or comparable.
2. The correct electrode gap is 0.5 mm.
Check the ignition cable before every start.
Regularly check the spark plug, i.e. every 50
hours. Immediately replace the spark plug if
the electrode has been worn away - otherwise
every 100 hrs. Position the stop switch on
"Stop" before removing the spark plug. Re-
move the spark plug cover. Pull the spark plug
cap beneath the cover and unscrew the spark
plug with the enclosed spark plug spanner.
Only fit spark plugs with fixed, thick nut at the
top end. Otherwise there is a risk of fire
through sparks. Always firmly push the spark
black cap on to the spark plug.
9.6 Air filter maintenance
1.Dirty air filters result in lower performance.
They increase fuel consumption, and thus
increase the pollutants in the exhaust. In addi-
tion, starting will be more difficult.

2.Execute the following maintenance work
regularly.
Before opening the air filter, close the starter
shutter
, so that no dirt can reach the
carburetor.
Press in the clip (1) and tilt the filter housing
(2) back and remove. Clean around the filter.
Remove pre-filter (1) and main filter (2) from
the filter carrier (3).
3.For full-day implementation, pre-filter and
main filter should should be cleaned daily. For
larger dust accumulations the maintenance
should also be executed between these breaks.
Simply shaking out or blowing out are the best
methods for daily cleaning. In the case of dam-
aged filter material, the appropriate parts
must be immediately replaced. For motor dam-
age, that occurs through improper care, no
guarantee claims can be made. Insert the new
or cleaned pre-filter and main filter into the
filter carrier (3) and replace the filter cover
and secure through the catch.
4.Under no circumstances should a wet pre-
filter or main filter be implemented!

9.7 Noise suppressor instructions

If the motor does not run satisfactorily, al-
though the air filter is clean and also the
carburetor adjustment is in order, then this
could also be due to a polluted or damaged
noise suppressor. Please see your specialized
repair shop.
