reduces the risk of the fuel cap becoming
loose due to motor vibration and fuel escapes.

is escaping. Life-threatening hazard is present
through burning injury!

correctly labeled containers.

4.4 When transporting the device

Always turn off the motor when transporting
the device!
Never carry or transport the motor scythe with
the engine running.
Always cover the cutters with blade protec-
tors, when transporting the equipment over
longer distances (Fig. 4).
To prevent fuel running out and associated
damages, the device should be secured
against tipping over during vehicle transport.
Check the tank for leaks. It is advisable to
drain the tank before transportation.
Drain the tank before despatching the equipment.

4.5 Before starting

Check the power tool before starting to insure
readiness for operation.
Also check the ignition cable and spark plug
cap for perfect fit. Loose connections can
cause sparks which can ignite any expelled
fuel-air mixture - risk of fire.
The impeller and the blower casing must be
22
in a problem-free condition. Damage to the
blower casing can lead to an injury hazard
through escaping foreign objects.
In this case do not use the device, have it
checked by a dealer.
The stop switch must move easily from the on
to off positions.

can be invisible and odourless. Never
work in enclosed areas with the power
tool. In confined conditions such as
pits or excavations insure adequate air
