9. Operating and maintenance manual

9.1 General operating instructions

0. (The details described in the following chapters
"9.4 Carburettor adjustment", "9.5 Spark plug
information" and "9.6 Filter maintenance" apply
to models 105, 106L and 106B. For model 106R,
orient yourself on the enclosed operation instruc-
tions for the Fuji-Robin four-stroke engine).
1.The maintenance and the repair of modern
devices as well as their safety-relevant assem-
blies requires qualified specialized training
and a workshop equipped with special tools
and test devices. Consequently the manufac-
turer recommends that all tasks not described
in these operating instructions be carried out
by a specialized work shop. The specialist has
the required training, experience, and equip-
ment at his disposal, to provide you with the
most cost-effective solution for the respective
situation. He will provide additional help in
word and deed.
2.After a running in time of app. 5 operating
hours, all accessible screws and nuts (except
the carburetor adjusting screws) must be
checked for firm seat and they must be
retightened if required.
3. Check the cutter regularly and whenever you
notice any irregularities, or when the cutter/
contact protection shield becomes blocked. To
do this, switch off the engine and wait until the
cutter has completely stopped. Pull the spark
plug cap, and remove grass, debris, etc. from
the cutter support. Immediately replace blunt
or damaged implements, even if they display
only small tears – do a "ping" test.
4.It is best to store the device in a dry, safe
location with full gas tank. There should be no
open flame possibilities or similar in the vicin-
ity in the case of longer periods of inactivity
(over 3 months), see chapter "9.7Shutdown
and storage".
9.2 The starter fixture
1.The following instructions are for increasing the service
life of the starter rope and of the starter mechanism - see
also Chapter "7 Start motor/stop motor".
Always pull the rope out in a straight line.
Do not let the rope drag across the the edge of the
rope eyelet.
Do not pull rope all the way out - risk of breaking rope.
Always follow the rope back into its start position with
your hand on the starter grip - do not let it retract on its own.
A damaged starter rope can be replaced by a specialist.

9.3 Gearbox lubrication (model 106 only)

1. Lubricate the bevel gearbox with "special
gearbox flow grease" (part no. 0083180).
Regularly check the grease level (after approx.
50 hours – under severe conditions every 20
hours) and top up, if required.
FIG. 33
2. Remove the filler plug from the side of the
gearbox. If no grease is visible inside, top up
with grease (top-up quantity approx. 5 – 10 g).
Replace and tighten the filler plug.

9.4 Carburetor adjustment

1.The carburetor is optimally adjusted in the
factory. A correction of the idle-stop "T" screw
may be required according to the area of im-
plementation (mountains, flat land).
