Never blow in the direction of other people, as
smaller objects can be forced upward at high speeds.
10.Implement the power tool at lowest possi-
ble noise and exhaust levels. Only open the
throttle when working, do not let the motor
run unnecessarily. Please note that noise also
impacts the environment. Observe the quiet
times, that can vary from place to place.
11.Exercise caution when the ground is wet,
with ice and snow, on overhangs, or uneven
terrain. There is an increased risk of slipping!
11.b. Pay particular attention to safety when
working on slopes. Before commencing work,
check the working area for stones, broken
glass, nails, wire or other solid objects and
remove such debris to prevent them being
picked up and thrown out by the cutters.
11.c. Always hold the cutters below hip level. Never lift a
rotating cutter off the ground. Keep all parts of the
body away from rotating cutters.
11.d. Only use cutters in perfect working order
(see chapter 8 "Using the motor scythe").
11.e. Never use blunt cutters and avoid uncon-
trolled contact of the cutter with debris. Oth-
erwise there will be an increased risk of kick-
back, which could throw the entire machine
around. Consequently, the operator could be
subjected to involuntary movements, which
could lead to serious injury or death.
11.f. Always stop the engine before any con-
tact with the cutter – even when clearing a
blockage or if cutters have become jammed –
wait until the cutter has stopped and remove
the spark plug cap.
11.g. Stop the engine if you notice a differ-
ence in the operating characteristics of the
motor scythe.
11.h. Due to the centrifugal clutch, the cutters
will run on for a short time, even if you release
the throttle. Ensure the cutter has fully
stopped before storing the machine.
12.Pay attention to obstacles or stumbling
hazards such as tree roots, tree stumps, edges.
13.Do not touch the exhaust and the noise
suppressor, as long as they are still hot, there is
a danger of burn injury!
14.Never work with defective noise suppressor
or without noise suppressor. There is a hazard
of hearing damage and burn injury hazard!

4.8 Maintenance and repair

1.The power tool should be regularly main-
tained. Only execute the maintenance and
repair work yourself that is described in these
operating instructions. All other work should
only be executed by a specialized workshop.
2.For cleaning, maintenance and repair the
motor should always be shut off and the
sparkplug connector should be removed. An
injury hazard through the motor starting
unintentionally. Exception is adjusting the
carburettor and idle.
3.Only original replacement parts from the
manufacturer may be used.
4.No changes may be made to the power tool,
as this could impair the safety of the device
and cause a hazard of accident or injury!
5.The power tool may not be maintained, re-
paired, or stored in the vicinity of open flame.
6.Regularly check the fuel tank cap for leaks.
7.Only use sparkplugs that are problem-free and
that are recommended by the manufacturer.
8.Check the ignition cable for problem-free
condition and intact insulation. If the
sparkplug is unscrewed or the ignition cable is
removed from the socket, then only move the
device if the stop switch is placed on " 0 /
stop"). A fire hazard exists through sparking!
9.Regularly check the noise suppressor for
problem-free condition. Do not touch the
noise suppressor, as long as is still hot.

5. Assembly

1. The equipment will be despatched part-
assembled, and should, therefore, be fully
assembled before taking it into use. Only use
this machine when it is completely assembled.
Ensure that the tank is fully drained before
any assembly, disassembly or modification.

1. Turn the loop handle into the correct position.
2. Note: Always install the safety end-stop (1)
on the operator side of the motorised scythe.
If, during use, you carry the motor scythe on
your r.h. side, install the safety end-stop in l.h.
orientation. However, if, during use, you carry
the motor scythe on your l.h. side, install the
safety end-stop in r.h. orientation.
3. Install the safety end-stop (1) on the loop
handle and secure with the spring clip (2).
