4. Throttle (right) HotGrip:
• Apply the glue into the HotGrip so that as much of the internal faces as possible
are covered with glue.
• If the grips are a very tight fit over the throttle slider, then is it advisable to apply
glue onto the actual plastic throttle slider on the innermost flange and less along
the length of the throttle slider. This is to ensure that the grip and glue does not
set too early and leaving the grip stuck halfway up the throttle slider.
• Push the grips into place ensuring that the HotGrips® are positioned correctly so
it does not foul the throttle operation.
5. Be sure to act immediately to wipe away any excess glue with a dry cloth.
6. Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 hours before using. Ensure that the grips
are firmly fixed in place before use. Do not use if the grips move and seek advice
immediately.
J: USAGE GUIDELINES:
Once fitted, the Oxford HotGrips® PRO are designed for keeping gloved hands at a
comfortably warm temperature. The PRO grips are individually thermistor controlled
allowing the user to pick a set temperature between 45-35 degrees. Whether the
chosen setting is 45, 40, or 35 degrees (113 – 104 – 95°F) the controller will apply
MAX power until this temperature is individually measured in both the clutch grip
and throttle grip. As each grip is constantly measured independently the intelligent
controller can apply more power to one to maintain the set temperature over both
grips.
This removes the need to constantly adjust the heat settings.
If the grips are too hot please ensure the heat controller is turned down or even
switched OFF if necessary.
INTEGRATED SWITCH OPERATIONS:
The inbuilt controller has one raised button to make it easier to locate and feel when
riding.
To turn on the HotGrips®, press and hold the button on for 3 seconds
The LED will then display RED (High 45°C) – enabling full power until 45°C is reached.
To reduce the temperature continue to press the button, this will cycle to WHITE (MID
40°C) followed by BLUE (LOW 30°C).
The button will continue to cycle through heat settings going from HIGH to LOW, to
turn off the HotGrip press and hold the button for 3 seconds.
SWITCH FEATURES:
The integrated switch removes the need to have a floating controller – creating a more
streamlined product.
Auto-dimming LED – Once the heat program is selected the LED will dim to 50% after
5 seconds to ensure the user is not distracted during night riding.
The Integrated controller has 3 temperature settings – 45 – 40 - 35°C (113 – 104 –
95°F)
Intelligent heat monitoring – Constantly reading each grip temperature and adjusting
the power output to keep a constant heat level.
If connected to the ignition, the switch will remember the last heat setting you used
and return to that setting when the vehicle is restarted.
Reduced heat up time to set temperatures – the controller will supply full power from
the start to reach the set temperature.
The new wire heating element pattern provides an upgraded heat distribution around
the user's hand.
- Please note that the grips may be perceived as 'cool' to touch when no hands/
gloves have been applied for a long period, this is due to the onboard thermistor
measuring the correct temperature for the grip surface. Once hands/gloves have
been applied the grips will start to heat up rapidly ensuring the user's gloved hands
quickly warm up to the desired set temperature.
