Temperature switch-off (only in combination with air temperature sensor, item 70624)
It is recommended to temporarily deactivate the fan at very low external temperatures,
so that cold air is not drawn into the coop. The "OFF below" setting allows a tempera-
ture value to be set below which ventilation is deactivated.

Summer mode (only in combination with air temperature sensor, item 70624)
The chicken coop can become very warm if there is strong solar radiation. To
counteract this, additional ventilation is possible when the temperature is high. The
setting "100 % ON above" allows selection of a temperature above which the fans are
switched on permanently at 100 % output, in order to provide rapid air exchange and
a cooling effect. If this function is not required, set the value to 99°.
10.8.3 Potential errors and their correction
The fan generates only slight air flow, or does not start:
The fan wheel or the casing is heavily contaminated Proceed as described in
8 "Maintenance and care".
10.9 Switchable intermediate socket (item 70628)
The switchable intermediate socket controls the power supply to electronic devices (e.g.
chicken warming plates, additional light sources, etc.) as per individual temperature and
time settings. For this, the switching module is simply inserted between the 230 V device
and an existing 230 V socket. The socket is then switched on and off, as per time or
temperature settings, via a 12 V control cable (to the SmartCoop control unit).
10.9.1 Installation
For the individual steps, please refer to the module's installation instructions.
10.9.2 Configuration
Switching by time:
As standard, the switchable intermediate socket switches on and off according to
time. Define the time range within which the switchable intermediate socket should
be switched on:
*** SOCKET ***
After time
ON at
15:30
OFF at
17:30
To deactivate the module, identical ON and OFF times must be set (e.g. 14:30, 14:30).
Switching by temperature (Air temperature sensor module, item 70624 essential):
Alternatively, the switchable intermediate socket can be set to temperature-dependent
mode. For this, define the temperature range within which the switchable intermediate
socket should be switched on:

10.10 Drinker heating with level sensor (item 70652) for poultry drinker
The drinker heating is an accessory for the SmartCoop poultry drinker (item 70651)
for level control, and it prevents the drinking water from freezing.
10.10.1 Installation
For the individual steps, please refer to the module's installation instructions.
10.10.2 Configuration
Operating the drinker heating with level sensor requires no configuration. When the
control unit is restarted (interruption to power supply), the drinker heating with level
sensor is recognised automatically. It checks the level and the temperature of the
water in the container at regular intervals (every 30 s).
The water temperature is shown on the control unit's display:
12:00 SA
01.01.2022
Air
15° Batt. 11.9
Water 16° Bright.52%
Drinker heating:
If the water temperature is low (approx. 0 °C), the heating is activated automatically,
and remains switched on until the water temperature has returned to around +3 °C.
When heating is active, the following message appears on the control unit's display:
"Water heating active"
Level sensor:
The integrated level sensor determines the water level in the drinker. It detects a water
level which is too low, and sends a signal to the control unit. The following error
message appears on the control unit's display: "Water empty". In this case, please
refill the water.
10.10.3 Potential errors and their correction
The message "Water empty" appears on the display, even though there is still
sufficient water in the can:
The drinker heating with level sensor is positioned too high up Pull the cable a little
way through the cover, until the heater makes contact with the base of the can when
the cover is in place.
