Setting the energy saving mode:
1. For this, go into the "BATTERY" Configuration menu option:

Energy saving mode

11.7V
Active below
11.0V
V in: displays the measured input voltage at the control unit. Please note that this may
vary from the actual battery voltage, due to cable losses (voltage at the control unit
is usually less than at the battery)
If necessary, for long cabling, check the actual
voltage at the battery using a multimeter or measuring device, or
from the display of the solar charge controller, if present.
2. Determine the permitted minimum voltage of your battery. This is generally recorded
in the battery datasheet. For 12 V lead batteries, it is generally around 11.0 V. Transfer
this value into the field "Active below:" xx.x V and save it by holding down the
button.
The energy saving mode is now set. If the input voltage level falls below the set value
(in this case 11.0 V), then all energy-intensive modules are switched off. The "Battery
empty" error appears on the display.
IMPORTANT: If the energy saving mode became operational, then the message
"Battery empty" appears in the status row of the display. After charging the battery, all
modules are reactivated only after acknowledging the message, using the
8 Maintenance and care
Your SmartCoop control unit is maintenance-free. In the event of heavy contamination,
the front can be cleaned using a damp cloth.
9 Potential errors and their correction
The control unit regularly loses the time/date setting
• The power supply is temporarily interrupted Ensure that the power supply cables
are free of defects. In solar operation, check the battery voltage
• The connection cables of the connectivity module (item 70620) or external daylight
sensor (item 70622) were extended Extension is not permitted for these modules.
Remove the extension cables.
• A module is defective and causes increased power consumption Disconnect
all modules, and reconnect them one at a time. Note the module which recreates
the error.
• Coop ventilation (items 70625, 70626) is blocked Free the fan wheel of dirt, and
ensure that it can turn freely.
The "Battery empty" error appears regularly on the display
• The battery voltage is too low Recharge the battery, and acknowledge the error
using the
button in order to transition back to normal operation. It is not suffi-
cient just to recharge the battery; the error must be acknowledged as well.
• The voltage value for activating the energy saving mode has been set incorrectly
Check the value and correct it downwards if necessary (Attention! Comply with the
battery's voltage range)
• The solar energy system is providing too little energy Optimise its orientation to
the south, and ensure that no obstacles (e.g. branches) are creating shade.
The "Ext. light disrupt." error appears on the display
• The system was disrupted by extraneous light (e.g. car headlights, street lighting,
garden lighting, etc.). Ensure that no extraneous light can impinge on the light sensor.
