Safety information

• Check the system regularly for poor balance, signs of wear or dam-
aged springs and connection cables, and never use it if repairs or
corrections are necessary. Check the drive and the entire system for
damage. Never commission a drive that is damaged, particularly in
the event of damage to the connection cable!
• The drive is only functional when installed. Only install the drive
when it is free of voltage. Only adapters and couplings from the
current SELVE catalogue may be used for coupling the drive with the
driven part. The smallest shaft diameter for series 1 SELVE drives
(e.g. SE.. 1/...) is 40 mm, for series 2 drives (e.g. SE.. 2/...) is 50 mm,
for series 3 drives (e.g. SE.. 3/...) 60 mm. An eccentric design of the
coupling and the crown may be necessary in the case of groove
tubes.
• Adjust the nominal torque and activation time to the requirements
of the driven product. Please refer to the type plate of the drive for
technical data.
• If a drive is being used in an awning, the awning must not be oper-
ated while work such as maintenance or window cleaning is being
carried out nearby. For automatically controlled awnings, the awn-
ing must be disconnected from the power for the above work.
• The drives may be operated by children from the age of 8 years, as
well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity,
or those lacking in knowledge and experience of the product. They
must be supervised while operating the product, or have been
instructed in how to safely use it and be informed of the associated
dangers.
• Keep objects away from the path of the system. Ensure that the
path is visible during operation. Observe the system during oper-
ation and keep persons away from it. Only use locked switching
elements.
