2. Information about the motor features

2.1. Designated use

The drive type SEE-com mis ready for operation without setting the end limits and must only
be used for operating roller shutters.

2.2. Properties

The drive needs three complete moving up and moving down movements in order to pro-
gram its end limit positions and to set overload protection in upwards direction and obstacle
detection in downwards direction optimally.
The programming procedure will be executed automatically in the next days after putting into
operation and is completed when there is no longer a relief at the lower end limit position.
To protect the hanging, the motors have an obstacle detection system after the limit position
setting in the downwards direction with a reversing function and a self-teaching overload
detection in the upwards direction.
The obstacle detection of the drives has been developed to protect the roller shutter const-
ruction against damages.
Since, depending on the position of the hangings, when an obstacle is detected, the entire
hanging weight may have to be stopped before the object detection system trips, do not use
the motor's obstacle detection system for personal protection.
The airborne noise of the motor is significantly below 70 dB (A). Depending on the type of the
roller shutter/awning/screen a strengthening of the sound intensity of the motor is possible.
It can be reduced by use of appropriate measures (e.g. insulation of the box, using noise pro-
tection plugs, etc.).
The stability of the roller shutter system has to be suitable for the permanent use of the
drive.
The drive is suitable for left and right installation controlled with conventional switches, but-
tons and control systems that are suitable for roller shutter and sun control drives.
For the operation blocking springs/burglar proof fixations and fixed stoppers trailing edges

are mandatory.
There have to be at least two blocking springs/burglar proof fixations assembled and have to
be positioned and adjusted correctly to the roller shutter. The manufacturer specifications for
the blocking springs/burglar proof fixations have to be observed.
The drive torque has to be chosen correctly for the hanging weight.
Parallel connection of several drives is possible (please observe the capacity of the switching
elements!).
The drive is only conditionally suitable for the use with institutions for the second emergency
escape route. The drive has to be reset to factory state after release of the emergency device
(free run) in order to function error-free.
