The battery is good and capable of
maintaining charge.
- GOOD & CHARGE:
The battery is good, but must be charged
ATTENTION: The battery can be restored,
but over time the engine cranking capacity
will be reduced. The battery may not work
in extreme weather conditions. There
may be a connection problem between
the vehicle and the battery that inhibits
the charge function. Pay attention and
consider replacing the battery and check
the charge system.
- RETEST CHARGE:
The battery is flat, the battery conditions
cannot be determined until it is fully
charged. Charge and retest battery.
- FAULTY REPLACE:
The battery is not capable of maintaining
charge. It must be replaced as soon as
possible.
- FAULTY CELL REPLACE:
The battery has at least one short circuiting
cell. It should be replaced immediately.
- CCA OFF LIMIT OR WRONG CONNECTION:
The tested battery has a CCA over 2000, or
the clamps are not correctly connected.
If the CCA set is within the limits, fully
charge the battery, firmly connect the
clamps and conduct the test again.
Test print-out
- Press the ◄/► keys to select print-out of
the results: "YES" or "NO".
- Press «Enter» to confirm.
- Disconnect the clamps at the end of
printing.
4.3 TEST SYSTEM
- Select "TEST SYSTEM" from the main menu.
- Before starting the engine, switch off all
the vehicle charges, such as the lights, air
conditioning, radio, etc.
- When the engine has started, one of the
three results will be displayed with the
voltage measurement of the cranking
system:
- NORMAL CRANKING VOLTAGE:
The
cranking
regularly. Press «Enter» to test the
system charge.
- LOW CRANKING VOLTAGE:
The system voltage during start-up
is under the normal limits: check the
conditions of the battery and the starter
with the procedures recommended by
the manufacturer.
- CRANKING VOLTAGE NOT DETECTED:
The system voltage during cranking is
system
is
working
not detected.
Charge system test at minimum engine
rotations
- Press «Enter» to continue with charge
system testing.
- Keep all the vehicle charges off and the
engine at MINIMUM IN neutral.

measurements of the charge voltage:
- HIGH MIN VOLTAGE:
Voltage output from the alternator is
within the normal limits for normal
operation, however there may be some
connections towards loose ground
or the voltage regulator should be
replaced. Check the manufacturer's
specifications for the correct limit, given
they vary based on the type of vehicle
and manufacturer.
- NORMAL MIN VOLTAGE:
the system is displaying a normal
alternator voltage value. No problem
was detected in the charge system.
- LOW MIN VOLTAGE:
the alternator is not supplying sufficient
voltage to the battery. Check the belts
to ensure the alternator is rotating with
the engine running. If the belts are
slipping or broken, replace the belts
and retest the charge system. Check
the connections from the alternator to
the battery. If the connection is slow
or seriously corroded, clean or replace
the cable and retest. If the belts and
the connections are in good condition,
replace the alternator.
Charge system test at 2500 RPM of the
engine with charges activated
- Switch on the heating and place at
maximum, switch on the high beams
and rear defogger. Do not activate cyclic
charges such as air conditioning or wipers.
- Increase the engine rotations in neutral
until 2500 RPM rotations are maintained
for approx. 15 s.
- Press «Enter» to continue with ripple
testing of the charge system.
One of the following results will be
displayed,
measurements:
- NORMAL RIPPLE DETECTED:
The rectifying and levelling system of
the charge voltage is working properly
- RIPPLE NOT DETECTED:
No ripple is detected of the charge
voltage.
