17 Commissioning

Prerequisite for commissioning is the proper installation and function
• of all Emergency-Stop/Emergency-Halt devices
• of the electrical connection including all required sensors
Make sure that the above mentioned prerequisites for commissioning
are met.

17.1 Address setting of the MGDM

The MGDM will be addressed via a system-internal ethernet connection.
All MGDMs are delivered with the same standard address for Sercos and IP.
To apply the MGDMs in several plant topologies, with starting of the MGDM (while
docking of the gun), the Sercos address and the last digit of the IP address must be
defined via an external circuit.

17.2 Switching on the MGDM

1. Switch on the 24 V supply US1.
The display of the LED US1 should be on green, if the power supply is switched
on (refer to Fig.1 and section 16 LEDs).
2. The LED PWR indicates if the internal power supply is available (refer to section
16 LEDs).
3. Check whether the I/O signals for communication with robots, PLC
or control panel are output/imported properly.
4. Check all Emergency-Stop/Emergency-Halt devices on correct function.
5. Test the plant functionality installed for any faults.
6. For operation has to be also switched on the 24 V supply US2 (LED US2 must be
green)
We do not accept any liability for damage resulting from the execution
of a program, an individual program block or the manual movement
of the handling units.
We furthermore accept no liability for consequential damages which
could have been avoided by programming the PLC appropriately.

17.3 Switching off the MGDM

Turn the supply US1 off.
The LED PWR on the front panel of the MGDM goes off.
With external 24 V supply of the logic (at US2)
the LED US2 lights up.

18 Operation

Please note the instructions on operation of the product in section 2 and 3.4.
If at the MGDM LEDs are no faults, then is the MGDM ready.
