Checking the Functions of the Control and Monitoring Systems

All control and monitoring systems must be checked and their function must be ensured prior to
start-up.
The following parameters must be monitored:
– pressure at pump inlet - P
– pressure at pump outlet - P
– temperature at pump inlet in the melt line T
– temperature of the heating plates – T
– pump drive torque -M
To monitor the pressure at pump inlet (P
measuring values is advisable.
The table on the following page shows the permissible operating parameters and the consequences if
these values are not adhered to.
The correct setting of the limit values as well as the occurrence of the prescribed reactions if these val­
ues are either exceeded or not reached have to be checked.
