Danger!
The characteristics of the pump and its operating performance, in particular the permissibility of
pressures and speeds as well as material and wear characteristics, can be determined and checked
by Barmag only with the help of calculations and trials carried out with representative conveying me
dia. The data indicated in these operating instructions do therefore not apply to all conveying media.
It is the operator's responsibility to find out the permissible operating data for the conveying medium
that will be used by him/her by carrying out the appropriate trials; moreover, the customer has to
make sure that there will be no danger occurring either due to the conveying medium or due to the
operating states caused by the conveying medium. The safety data sheets regarding the conveying
media are to be observed.
The used pumping media must not chemically corrode the pump material. Contact Barmag if re
quired!
Before starting any works at the pump or on the drive unit, respectively, switch off the pump drive
and wait until it has completely stopped. Secure the disconnected drive against unauthorized recon
nection.
If repairs are to be made in the heating area, please observe the cooling down periods indicated!
Inherent in the way a gear pump functions, during non-controlled operation, pressures may be gen
erated at pump inlet and
quids, and may lead to damage of the pump or the line itself. It is therefore essential that pressure
monitoring devices with limit switches be installed at pump inlet and outlet. The applicable limit val
ues for the pump in regard to pressure can be taken from the technical data sheet (see information
in section 8.1.1.)
Prior to each new start-up, the rotating direction must be checked (see rotating direction arrow on
the shaft seal). The wrong rotating direction can lead to damage of the pump or the line itself.
If the drive torque is too high, the pump might be damaged. It is therefore necessary to provide an
appropriate safety device, e.g. an overload clutch,
(max. permissible drive torque, see Technical Data Sheet (see information in section 8.1.1.).
