Spezifical Safety Instructions
∙
There is an injury hazard from splinters flying around in case of a break of the hardened pump drive-
shaft.
The area of the drive shaft protruding from the pump is to be shielded completely. In addition the
areas next to the protruding drive shaft are to be shielded such that diagonally-flying splinters are
retained. The shielding can be realized by different measures, e. g. by an extended drive-shaft ad­
aptor, or by a corresponding protective cover (do not use perforated plates for this purpose).

Pump components may be damaged or destroyed due to improper operation or incorrect handling of
the pump. Here, the drive shaft may be pushed out of the pump as long as the pump is pressurized.
In this case, hot liquid may be ejected.
Always depressurize the system before working on the pump or near it, removing protective covers,
dismounting the shaft/clutch between gear motor and pump, loosening the locking nut of length-ad­
justable articulated shafts.

Dismount the safety devices of the drive only if the line is not running.
∙
If work is to be carried out on the system's pumps, wear the appropriate clothes for protection
against high temperature and outflowing conveying media.
∙
High surface temperatures at the gear unit and the motor.
Wear appropriate protective clothing when staying in the reach of the gear unit and the motor and
when performing maintenance work.
Prior to performing repair work, the gear unit and the motor have to be cooled down.
