In-line Installation

4.2.1

General

Assembly of the pump including installation, orientation and connection must be carried out by the
Barmag pump service or by properly trained personnel.
Before installing the pump in-line, ensure that any part of the system (before the pump) that comes into
contact with the product has been thoroughly cleaned. Dirt, metal particles (welding residues) etc. will
damage the pump.
To guaranty a constantly pressure on the sealings, the flanges of the pump and the mating flanges of
the line must be thoroughly bring into line.
The product flanges may be aligned using the centring margin.
The permitted limit values of forces acting on the pump, by the pipe system via the product flanges, can
be requested from Barmag.
Tighten the screws on the product flanges crosswise and in steps using controlled torque.
The torque required depends on the flange seals used and on the type of mating flange. The torques
will need to be calculated for each case individually. We recommend contacting Barmag.

Caution!
The pump is to be mounted into the line such that no additional forces are introduced into the pump
from movements and thermal expansions of pipes.
