Only use the PROFILER ST for the purposes which are de-
scribed in this operating manual.
Read and understand the operating manuals of the meas-
uring systems and peripherals, which you would like to
connect to the PROFILER ST.
Only connect incremental measuring systems of type 1Vss or
TTL (RS-422) without external power supply to the Encoder
1–3 ports.
Only connect absolute measuring systems of type SSI with-
out external power supply to the ABS/SSI 1–3 ports.
Only use shielded cables for connecting measuring systems,
PCs and other peripherals.
The PROFILER ST is insulated by the power supply. Ensure
that no dangerous voltages or currents are induced by pe-
ripheral devices in the PROFILER ST.
Only use the supplied 24 V/30 W power supply to power
the PROFILER ST.
Ensure that the mains voltage matches the label on the
power supply before connecting the power supply to the
mains.
Disconnect the PROFILER ST from the mains before connect-
ing/disconnecting measuring systems, a PC or other periph-
erals to/from the PROFILER ST.
Set the PROFILER ST in such a way that you can immediately
disconnect the power supply from the mains, without hin-
drance, in case of emergency.
Ensure that no chips, liquids, objects or substances enter the
interior of the PROFILER ST or the power supply. Protect the
PROFILER ST from dust and dirt as much as possible.
