6.1 IP address
IP address
The processor unit and the host system communicate via
EtherNet/IP. By assigning a unique IP address the
processor unit is associated with a network.
There are various ways to incorporate the processor unit
into a network (DHCP, ARP). The basis for incorporation
into the network is the MAC address. This hardware
address is unique and identifies network devices such as
the processor unit.
DHCP
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) uses a
server to enable dynamic assigning of an IP address. The
hardware can be inserted into the network without any
additional configuration. All that needs to be set is
automatic obtaining (MAC address) of the IP address.
Default IP
The factory setting for the IP address is 192.168.10.2.

AnyBus IPconfig

The application Anybus IPconfig can be found
on the included BIS-CD.
AnyBus IPconfig is a software which makes it possible to
address the hardware before installation for the
corresponding subnet. In addition, assigning of the IP
address using a DHCP server or BOOTP program can be
activated (DHCP on) or deactivated (DHCP off).
1. Start Anybus IP config.
⇒ The subnet is scanned for connected BIS U-6026
devices. The result of the scan is displayed in the
Anybus IPconfig window.

2. Select the device from the scan list and double-click on
it.
⇒ The Configure is opened.
3. Assign IP address, subnet mask and gateway address.
4. Turn DHCP on/off.

Setting using a web browser

If the IP address is known and valid in the local network,
the device can be accessed through a web browser, e.g.
at http://169.254.22.54/.
The current settings are shown, and IP address, subnet
mask, gateway and DHCP can be set (password
protected).
For diagnostic purposes the current contents of the data
buffers can also be shown.
