General safety notes

Installation and startup may only be performed by
qualified personnel with basic electrical knowledge.
Qualified personnel are persons whose technical
training, knowledge and experience as well as knowledge
of the relevant regulations allow them to assess the work
assigned to them, recognize possible hazards and take
appropriate safety measures.
The operator is responsible for ensuring that local safety
regulations are observed.
In particular, the operator must take steps to ensure that a
defect in the device will not result in hazards to persons or
equipment.
If defects and unresolvable faults occur in the device, take
it out of service and secure against unauthorized use.
When connecting the processor unit to an external
controller, observe proper selection and polarity of the
connection as well as the power supply.
The antennas of the identification system BIS U transmit
ultra-high frequency electromagnetic waves.
IEC 62369 stipulates that personnel must not remain within
close range of the UHF antenna for long periods (several
hours).
Any damage resulting from unauthorized tampering or
improper use shall void warranty and liability claims against
the manufacturer.
For operation within the European Union:
When selecting the installation position for the processor
unit, make sure that the minimum distance between the
UHF antenna and the workplace is 26 cm.
The radiated power must not exceed the maximum
permitted limit values:
1 watt
for antennas with an opening angle ≤ 180°
ERP
2 watt
for antennas with an opening angle ≤ 90°.
ERP
For operation in the USA and Canada:
When selecting the installation position for the processor
unit, make sure that the minimum distance between the
UHF antenna and the workplace is 50 cm.
The radiated power must not exceed the permissible limit
value of 4 watts
.

See the "Basic UHF manual" for more
information on minimum/maximum distances
and antenna power.
