Pre-programmed modes

Defrosting

When defrosting frozen food you have two
program options available:

Defrosting by weight

Enter the weight of the dish you would like
to defrost, and the appliance will select the
defrosting time which is ideally suited for this
weight.
Timed defrosting
You can determine the defrosting time for
your dishes.
WARNING
Health hazard!
The defrost water can contain harmful
bacteria, especially with meat and poul-
try.
Avoid any physical contact.

Pour defrost water away. Do not use it
■
for any other purpose.
Thoroughly clean the crockery you
■
have used.
Preparation
• Ideally, use food which has been frozen
at -18 °C in portions that are as thin as
possible.
• Remove all packaging and weigh the
dish. The weight is required to ensure the
correct settings.
• Place the food in an appropriately sized
container into which the defrost water can
run without overflowing.
• Do not cover the food.
Defrosting by weight
1. Place a dish or a beverage in the cooking
chamber, close the cooking chamber door
and make sure it locks in securely in place.
2. Press the 'Defrost' button (30) once.
The and symbols and dEF1 will ap-
pear on the display.
3. Turn the control dial (4) to enter the
weight of the dish (in steps of 10 g be-
tween 100 g and 1000 g; in steps of
100 g between 1000 g and 2000 g).
4. Press the button.
5. The appliance starts. The ventilator
starts. The light in the cooking chamber
switches on. The glass rotary plate (2)
starts to turn. The pre-programmed time
for the entered weight appears on the
display and then counts down.
After half the defrosting time has elapsed,
2 short beeps will sound, indicating that
the food needs to be rotated.
6. Open the cooking chamber door.
7. The operation stops when the cooking
chamber door is open.
8. Rotate the dish.
9. Pour away any defrost water as needed.
10. Close the cooking chamber door.
11. Push the button to continue defrost-
ing.
As soon as the cooking time has finished,
a beep will sound 5 times. The appliance
then switches off. The display now again
shows the time.
12. Open the cooking chamber door. Care-
fully remove the dish from the cooking
chamber and drain any defrost water.
