5.4 Firmware update

Firmware updating is described in the Online Help
for the EPS945 software.
The EPS945 software always checks the firmware
version automatically after starting. If the firmware
version installed on the EPS 708 is out of date, a status
window is called up with the following possible status
messages:
" FirmwareVersion KMA802 not up to date
-or-
FirmwareVersion DZE800 not up to date
"
-or-
" FirmwareVersion CRE800 not up to date
-or-
" FirmwareVersion EPS708 not up to date

In such cases the firmware is to be updated.
5.5 Installing CD-TestData

Only required if the software has not yet been
installed at the factory.
1. End all applications on the PC.
2. Insert the CD-TestData 1 687 370 270 in the CD/
DVD drive. A few seconds after insertion, the dialog
window "Select setup languages" appears.
3. Select a language (e.g. "English" for English).
4. Confirm selection with <OK>.
 The start screen appears.
5. Heed the information on the start screen and press
<Next> to proceed with installation.
 The selection menu for the databases appears.
6. Select the data base to be installed on the PC.
7. Press <Next> to proceed with installation.
8. Heed the information in the dialog window and
press <Install> to continue with installation.
 Database installation is started. Following instal-
lation, a dialog window is called up.
9. End installation with <Finish>.

This completes database installation.

6. Functional test

This Section only applies to the EPS 708 with cold
water unit. It can be ignored if the EPS 708 has no
cold water unit.

Bleeding and checking operation of the cooling circuit
" are described in the following.
1. Close the EPS 708 guard.
" 2. Start the EPS945 software.
 The software performs initialization.
" 3. In the "Injection component test main menu" start
screen select <F12>.

5. Continue with <F12>.

7. Continue with <F12>.
8. In the "Component selection" window, select <F12>.
9. Observe the actual values for tank temperature and
inlet temperature until 40 °C is attained.
10. Return with <F11>.
11. In the "Component selection" window, select <F7>.
12. Alter the set value from 40 °C to 30 °C in the tank
temperature input block.
13. Alter the set value from 40 °C to 30 °C in the inlet
temperature input block.
14. Press <F12> to continue to measurement display.
 The "Attention" dialog box opens with the maxi-
mum speed.
15. Continue with <F12>.
 The measurement display opens.
16. Activate the circuit breaker F2 on the installation
panel.
 The water pump of the cold water unit starts up
after approx. 10 seconds.
17. Check the direction of rotation for the water pump
of the cold water unit. The fan impeller must turn in
a clockwise direction.
