5. Software installation
5.1 Installing operating system

Further information on connection and installation
of the PC can be found in the enclosed operating
instructions.
1. Deactivate the circuit breaker F2 on the installation
panel (EPS 708 only, with cold water unit). All other
circuit breakers must be activated.
2. Check whether the emergency stop switch is
deactivated.

The emergency stop switch is deactivated when the
red knob is pulled out.
3. Switch on the EPS 708 at the master switch.
 The test oil in the test oil tank is circulated and
heated. Temperature regulation is effected at
40 °C.
In other words, the heating is switched off again
after attaining test oil temperature of 40 °C.
 The PC is booted and a language selection menu
appears.

During initial commissioning, Windows may
occasionally ask you to enter a product key. Skip
this request. The product key is already saved in the
system and is activated automatically as soon as
Windows is started.
4. Select the required language.
 The PC is booted again and the operating system
started.
5. Make the operating system settings (time, etc.).

5.2 Installing EPS 945 software

Only required if the software has not yet been
installed at the factory.

Minimum software requirement for EPS 708
operation: Version 3.45 or higher

The installation of the software is described in
the program description EP software (order no:
1 689 989 099) in Section 3.3 "Installation of the
KMA software EPS 945".
1. Remove the PC cover at the test bench frame.
2. Insert the "EP software" CD in the DVD drive.
3. Install EPS 945 software (see program description
1 689 989 099).

5.3 Checking software settings

The calibration protocols are in the hydraulics
compartment.
1. Start the EPS945 software.
 The software performs initialization.
2. In the "Injection component test - main menu" start
screen select <F7>.
 A password request appears.
3. Enter the password in the input line:
4. Confirm the entry with <F12>.
5. Select the menu item Calibration >> Flow
measurement cells.
6. Check whether the entries (serial number, etc.) in
the software for the measurement cell number "1"
coincide with the values on the enclosed calibration
protocol for the quantity measurement cell and alter
if necessary.

For changes select <F4>.
7. Continue with <F12>.
8. Select the menu item Calibration >> Overflow sensor.
9. Check whether the entries (serial number, etc.)
in the software coincide with the values in the
enclosed calibration protocol for the overflow
sensor and alter if necessary.

For changes select <F4>.
10. Continue with <F12>.
11. Select the menu item Calibration >> Flow meter.
12. Check whether the entries (serial number, etc.)
in the software coincide with the values in the
enclosed calibration protocol for the flowmeter and
alter if necessary.

For changes select <F4>.
13. Press <F12> to continue.
14. Select the menu item Calibration >> EPS708.
15. Check whether values are entered in the ZME / DRV
and EAV fields. If the values are missing, add
calibration values (see repair instructions).
16. Set zero point in low pressure range using <F2>.
17. Press <F12> to continue.
18. Exit from the menu with <Esc>.
