Summary
CAMP Temporary Lifeline is an anchoring device to prepare a horizontal flexible anchoring line (intended as a line that
does not shift more than 15° from the horizontal position - fig.1), and it is intended for protection against the risk of falling
from a height (if used as a fall arrester) or for the prevention of the same (when used for restraint or work positioning). It
is available in two versions with different adjustable lengths: up to 18 m (ref.1095) and up to 30 m (ref.109501).
CAMP Temporary Lifeline is classified as:
• "Type B+C": a device certified in accordance with standard EN 795:2012 Type B tested in accordance with Type C
methodology, when connected directly to a structure through anchoring slings (ref.1040xx) and carabiners (ref.
0981E) supplied with the device and available as spare parts. This use is governed by regulation (EU) 2016/425 and
in this case, the product is to be considered a CE certified Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). See fig.2a.
• "Type C": a device certified in accordance with standard EN 795:2012 Type C, when connected to Type A anchor
points already predisposed on the structure using only carabiners (ref.0981E), supplied with the device.
CAMP Temporary Lifeline has been tested for use by a maximum of two people at a time in accordance with standard
CEN/TS 16415:2013. "Type C" use and use by two people is not governed by regulation (EU) 2016/425 and in these
cases, the product is to be considered collective protection equipment.
Use
For installation, you must identify the structure to which to anchor the slings ref.1040xx or the Type A structural anchors
to which to connect the carabiners ref.0981E.
Wherever possible, we recommend using one or more intermediate anchors that can be created around a structure
with slings ref.1040xx or directly to Type A structural anchor points: the lifeline webbing must be inserted then into the
carabiner ref. 0981E in such a way that it can slide freely. The maximum angle between the spans at the infeed and
outfeed of the intermediate anchors is 15° (fig.3).
The anchors or the structure must be verified. During a fall, the maximum load transmitted to the anchors is → table B.
The tensile strength of the lifeline is 26.2 kN.
Minimum, maximum and intermediate span indications are shown on table A.
For installation:
• Must be carried out by skilled personnel.
• Attach the fixed end [1] to the end anchor.
• Place the ratchet [2] in position 3.
• Unroll the free tape [3] and attach the mobile end [4] to the other end anchor.
• Retrieve the free tape [3], placing it slightly under tension only by hand.
• Place the ratchet in position 2 and apply tension for at least two turns on the axis [7]. Tension must be applied only by
hand in order to prevent it from being excessive.
• Place the ratchet in position 1.
• Wind up the free tape [3].
• If necessary, install the lifeline webbing in the intermediate anchor points.
• Providing documentation after installation is not necessary since it is a temporary line destined to be removed after
use.
For uninstallation:
• Place the ratchet in position 3 and free all the anchors. Wind up the tape appropriately.
For connection of the operator subsystem for work positioning or fall arrest:
• Use Type B or A or T EN 362 connectors that can slide freely along the line.
• Provide a second safety system during passage of an intermediate anchor.
