Fitting the parachute

Connect the parachute to the harness

The first step is to connect the parachute to the harness. This means that the
parachute bridle and the harness attachment point must be connected. We re-
commend using oval carabiners with a minimum breaking load of 2500 kilograms
(>2500 daN). The Maillon Rapide Normal has been proven to have a sufficiently
high breaking load (depending on the diameter).
The bridle and harness attachment point should be secured into place with rubber
O-rings. Close the maillon gate with a spanner. To do this, follow the instructions
of the maillon manufacturer.
Please note: do not overtighten the gate. This could lead to damage to the thread
and may reduce the maillon's breaking load.
Attach deployment handle

Next, connect the deployment handle to the inner bag. Select the loop on the side
of the inner bag which points outwards, towards the deployment direction and
thread the blue tape loop of the deployment handle through this inner bag loop.
Then thread the red deployment handle through the blue tape loop to connect the
container to the handle.

and the inner bag apart to
tighten the lark's foot. The
blue tape and the loop of
the inner bag should be lo-
oped together without any
play.
Fit the inner bag

If the parachute is deployed, the zip on the right hand side will open. When fitting
the parachute, this zip must also be opened. It is important that the zip is comple-
tely opened, the sliders are guided back and the insertion pin is rethreaded.
Now fit the parachute vertically into the tube container, i.e. with the long side par-
allel to the pilot's back. The handle must point outwards.
Adjust the tube container size

Checking for compatibility must be performed during and after fitting the parachu-
te. The size of the container can be adjusted using the Velcro closer on the back.
If the parachute fits very tightly or it is difficult to push into the container despite
the Velcro being fully open, then the parachute may be too large.
