Fastening the appliance

Check whether the vehicle has a load-bearing floor or false
floor for securing the fuel cell system. If the floor is unsuitable,
create a load-bearing surface beforehand by gluing a plywood
board to the floor, for example.
The VeGA fuel cell system is attached to the floor, which must
be level and smooth. If necessary, the air intake for the sup-
ply air must be fitted with additional seals, e.g. for chequered
plate floors.
The recommended clearance for the fuel cell system from
walls and furniture items is 20 mm at the sides, and 250 mm
at the rear. 300 mm at the front to allow the electric cables to
be connected.
The openings in the floor of the vehicle must be freely
accessible, and must not be blocked by frame sections
or the like behind them! The openings must not be within the
range of the wheel spray. A splash guard must be fitted if nec-
essary. The underbody must not be obstructed in order to
keep the supply air inlet clear.

Installing the fuel cell system

Insert the installation template into the stowage box in which
the equipment is being installed and check the amount of
space available for the floor opening.
Mark the fastening holes for both fastening plates (1).
Mark the floor opening for the air inlet.
Remove template and cut out the marked floor opening.
Before drilling, always check for underlying / concealed
cables, gas lines, frame sections and the like!
Then seal the edges of the opening in the floor of the vehicle
with underbody protection.
Put the device in the stowage compartment, position over the
air inlet, and screw on with 3 screws (5.5 x 25) per fastening
plate (1).

Attach the floor air intake grille for the air supply to the floor
of the vehicle from below with suitable screws or clips (not
provided).

Exhaust air / exhaust gas ducting

Only Truma exhaust duct AA 3 (part no. 39320-00) and air
duct LI (part no. 39850-00) may be used for the device, since
the device has only been tested and approved with these
ducts. Do not pinch or kink these ducts during installation.

Installing the exhaust air / exhaust gas outlet

Maximum permitted duct length 150 cm. If necessary, secure
with at least 1 LIS clamp if duct length is greater than 70 cm.
Before drilling, always check for underlying / concealed
cables, gas lines, frame sections and the like!
Drill a 108 mm hole Ø (fill with suitable material in the vicinity
of the hole in cavities so that the fastening screws have suf-
ficient grip).

Connecting the exhaust air / exhaust gas outlet

Slide gasket for exhaust air / exhaust gas outlet (2 – flat sur-
face facing wall) onto the inner part (1). Use plastic body
sealant on textured surfaces – do not use silicon!
Attach inner part from the outside (1 – arrow pointing up-
wards) with 4 screws (10 – 3.5 x 25).

Slide exhaust duct (4) onto inner part of connection (1) all
the way.
Slide exhaust duct clip (3) as far as it will go (end position
must be between claws of clip) and screw in place.
