Start screen

After connecting the device to the vehicle's power supply, a
start screen is displayed after a few seconds.

Functions

Initial start-up

The rotary switch of the FrostControl must be set to „Opera-
tion" and the pushbutton must be in the „Closed" position.
Pour no more than 3.5 l of deionised water into the system via
the top-up container.
Check whether the exhaust air / exhaust gas outlet and the air
inlet for the supply air are clear. Be sure to remove any covers
that may be present.
Open gas cylinder and quick-acting valve in gas supply line.
Switch on device at start screen.
Select language and battery type (see settings).

Taking into operation

The rotary switch of the FrostControl must be set to „Opera-
tion" and the pushbutton must be in the „Closed" position.
Before every restart or after draining the water, check water
level of internal water container (see water level). If necessary,
top up with deionised water via the top-up container (max.
3.5 l).
Check whether the exhaust air / exhaust gas outlet and the air
inlet for the supply air are clear. Be sure to remove any covers
that may be present.
Open gas cylinder and quick-acting valve in gas supply line.
Switch on device at start screen.

Operation

The device is in standby after being switched on. The de-
vice starts up automatically (start-up phase) if the battery
voltage is less than 12.2 V for approximately 1 minute.

This menu is displayed during the start-up phase of the device.
Start

Charging (charge phase) begins after approximately
20 – 25 minutes. When the battery is charged, the device
runs for up to 40 minutes to allow the system to cool down
(after-run phase) and then goes to standby.
If the device is manually switched off during charging, the de-
vice switches to „Off" after an after-run phase.
If the window to which a window switch is fitted is
opened during the start-up phase, the device stops
working. The device continues operating when the window
is closed.
Switch the device to standby while the motor home / caravan
is in motion.
If the battery voltage is less than 10.5 V, the fuel cell sys-
tem can not start. For this reason, the battery must be
charged beforehand, e.g. using a charger or dynamo.

Switching off

Switch to the „Manual start / Switch-off" menu on the Touch
Panel and switch off the device.
Depending on the system status, an after-run becomes
active to reduce the temperature of the device. This can
take up to 40 minutes – the remaining time is shown graphi-
cally on the Touch Panel.
If there is a risk of frost, drain the water out of the
system.
If the device is not used for a long period, close the quick-act-
ing valve in the gas supply line and the gas cylinder.
