3.4 Gluing the Pelvic Tube
CAUTION
Risk of falling. For safety reasons, the pelvic tube
must be secured in the tube adapter of the joint
upper section with 636W28 Ottobock Special
Adhesive before final delivery of the orthosis to the
patient. Observe processing instructions for the
Special Adhesive (see page 10, beside Fig. 25).
Cut the pelvic tube if required (Fig. 16).
Degrease the surfaces to be glued (pelvic tube
and tube adapter) and roughen with fine sand-
paper. Next, apply Special Adhesive to both sur-
faces and insert the pelvic tube into the tube ad-
apter up to the stop (25 mm length). Tighten the
5 mm Allen head screw so that the position of
the pelvic tube can still be changed easily. The
resulting thin layer of adhesive between the pel-
vic tube and the tube adapter is necessary for a
durable bond.
Verify the orthosis' alignment in the assembled
state and let the adhesive set.
