10.13 Foot rests
The foot rests (Fig� 20) are mounted
to the abduction guides on the
MAGICLIGHT� They are equipped
with swivel bearings to enable the
greatest possible range of motion
for the patient, as needed� A clamp-
ing screw (3) on the side of the seat
shell enables the foot rests to be
secured� The foot rests can be se-
cured vertically or at an individual
angle�
The foot rests are adjusted using
a ratcheting height adjustment
mechanism� They can be adjusted
individually to the correspond-
ing height in accordance with the measurements of the patient� The ratcheting
mechanism ensures that the foot rests can also be set to the same height without
the need for elaborate measuring�
By pressing briefly on the corresponding button (1) the foot rest (2) will snap into
the next position; by pressing on the corresponding button and holding it down
(1) the foot rest can be pulled down and removed�
The foot rests can be configured individually using the extensive accessories,
such as foot restraints or upholstery applications�

11. Daily use
11.1
Dynamic back rest
The back units of the seat (Fig� 21) are interconnected by three pivot points on
the MAGICLIGHT� The back rest is moveable and its compression spring enables
it to readily absorb the sudden force exerted when the patient stretches� After
stretching the patient is returned to the original position� The dynamic back rest
is deactivated among the standard settings�
