10. Operation / adjustment / assembly

10.1 Trapezoidal adapter
The trapezoidal adapter system
(Fig� 3), consisting of the trapezoi-
dal adapter (1) and the trapezoidal
adapter receptacle (2), connects
the MAGICLIGHT to compatible un-
dercarriages or wheelchairs� Pull
out the spring-loaded catch mech-
anism (1) on the undercarriage and
rotate it 90°, pull down on the snap
cam (2), place the MAGIC L IGHT on
the undercarriage and slide it for-
ward as far as it will go� The guide
unit on the trapezoidal adapter sys-
tem ensures precise positioning of
the MAGICLIGHT on the undercar-
riage� Then press up on the snap
cam (2) and turn the spring-loaded
catch mechanism (1) another 90°
until it engages� MAGIC L IGHT is
now securely attached to the un-
dercarriage�
Important!
The spring-loaded catch mechanism can only be secured if the MAGICLIGHT is
positioned correctly and the snap cam is in the proper position� If the spring-
loaded catch mechanism is unable to be secured, then check to ensure that the
trapezoidal adapter system has been pushed forward as far as it will go on the
undercarriage; then push the snap cam up as far as it will go and secure the
spring-loaded catch mechanism� If your MAGICLIGHT is not secured correctly,
then it could slide off the undercarriage, possibly injuring the patient and damag-
ing your MAGICLIGHT� MAGICLIGHT should only be secured and removed from
the undercarriage while unoccupied by the patient�

10.2 Tool

The standard equipment supplied with the MAGICLIGHT includes the Allen wrench
(size 4) tool� This tool (Fig� 4) can be used to perform all adjustments to the MAGIC-
