9. Getting started with the transmitter

In the operating instructions, the numbers in the text always refer to the figure opposite or the figures
within the section. Cross references to other figures are indicated with the respective figure number.
a) Inserting the batteries
For the power supply of the transmitter you will need 4 alkaline batteries (e.g. Conrad Item No. 652507, 4-pack, please
order 1x) large mignon size (AA). To insert the batteries or rechargeable batteries, proceed as follows:
• The battery compartment lid (1) is located on the rear
side of the transmitter. Press lightly on the middle of the
upper edge (2) of the lid and slide it downwards.
• Now insert the 4 batteries in the battery compartment.
Observe the correct polarity of the individual cells. A
corresponding note (3) is located on the bottom of the
battery compartment.
• Finally, close the battery compartment lid by sliding it
upwards back into place.

b) Checking the transmitter's power supply

• When new batteries have been inserted, switch on the transmitter with the function switch (see Figure 2, pos. 5) for
test purposes. In order to do so, move the function switch from the middle setting "OFF" to the right-hand setting
"ON".
• The green and red LEDs glow In the LED display (see Figure 2, pos. 2).The green LED on the right-hand side
displays the operating charge and indicates that the transmitter has sufficient battery power. If the LEDs glow
weakly or do not light at all, stop operating the transmitter and insert a complete set of new batteries.
• The red LED in the middle of the display (see Figure 2, pos. 2) also glows and indicates that infrared control
impulses are being transmitted.
Warning!
In order to avoid accidental starting of the motor, you should ensure that the motor control lever (see
Figure 2, pos. 7) is in the "Motor off" position every time prior to beginning to operate the transmitter.
For this the control stick has to be pushed down completely or pulled towards you as far as possible.
Unlike the operating lever for directional control, which is held in the middle setting by springs, the
control lever for the motor control always remains in the last set position.
