15. Maintenance and cleaning

Maintenance or repairs are only permitted by a specialized skilled person or a specialized
repair shop. There are no components on the inside of the product that need maintenance by
you, this is why you should never open it (apart from the approach to insert or replace the
batteries described in these instructions).
To clean the exterior of the weather station, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient.
Dust on the weather station can be easily removed with the help of a long-haired, soft and clean
brush and a vacuum cleaner.

Do not press on the display too hard, this may cause scratch marks or lead to
failure of the display.
To remove dirt on the outdoor sensor, a soft cloth, slightly dampened with lukewarm water can
be used.
Never use aggressive cleansing agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical
solvents since they can damage the surface of the housing or even impair
operation.

16. Battery replacement

• A battery replacement is required when a small battery icon appears on the display of the
weather station or the outdoor sensor (with the weather station on the bottom left between
the DCF icon and the time/date, with the outdoor sensor on the top right of the display) or
if the display is no longer visible.
• During a battery replacement of the weather station, all settings and all saved information
gets lost. Here, proceed as described in Getting Started in Chapter 9.
• When the batteries in the outdoor sensor are replaced, the weather station might need a
little time until the outdoor temperature display or the outdoor air humidity display
reappears.
