c) Getting started with the weather station

Please note:
Once the batteries have been inserted, some settings are to be carried out. It
is imperative that you obtain the level of altitude of the place where you live so
that the barometric pressure reading can be calculated and displayed cor-
rectly.
You can find out the altitude of the place where you live e.g. from your local
government or city council but also from maps or possibly from the Internet.
A meter precise setting is not necessary (since there is not the same altitude
everywhere in one place), an approximation of 10-30m is sufficient.
If you do not carry out the settings when you first insert the batteries, you have
to remove the batteries briefly before reactivating the setting. However, doing
this, all existing data will get lost (barometric pressure trend, min-/max values
etc.).
The standard factory setting is: barometric pressure in hPa/mBar, display of
altitude in meters, altitude 10m. This is copied if no button is pressed within 60
seconds.
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the weather station.
• Insert two batteries of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity into the battery compartment
(observe positive/+ and negative/-). There is a corresponding illustration in the battery
compartment.
• Close the battery compartment.
• Once the batteries have been inserted, all available display elements appear briefly. Then
the unit for barometric pressure "hPa/mBar" flashes on the display (about in the middle of
the display at the right margin).
With the " " or " " button on the back of the weather station, the desired barometric
pressure unit can be selected ("hPa/mBar", "InHg" or "mmHg").
Confirm the selection with the "UNIT" button (also on the back of the weather station).
• "0" appears on the display and behind it the flashing altitude unit "meter" or "feet".
With the " " or " " button on the back of the weather station, you can choose between
"meter" and "feet".
Confirm the selection by pressing the "UNIT" button.
• "10m" or "32 feet" appears on the display, depending on the altitude unit you have selected
before.
