Explanation of display symbols
See fold-out for figure
12. „Peak Hold". Displayed when (yellow) „HOLD" button is
pressed.
13. „AC". AC signifies alternating voltage or current.
14. „−". Polarity display. A „−" in front of the measurement
value signifies negative polarity. No „−" in front of the mea-
surement value signifies positive polarity.
15. Buzzer. A piezo disk inside the housing transmits acoustic
signals as soon as the through resistance is 15 Ω or less
during the continuity check .
16. „BAT". Displayed if the battery needs replacement.
See fold-out for figure
17. „1...". „1" signifies overflow.
4. Use of Measuring Device
4.1 Fitting/Replacing the Battery
Your measuring device will only function correctly when fitted
with a 9-V block battery. If the battery change symbol is display-
ed, you must change the battery as follows:
Disconnect your measuring device from the measuring circuit
(conductor rail, isolated conductor, conductor system, etc.),
switch off and use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw
attaching the battery compartment cover on the rear side of the
device. Disconnect the used battery from the connecting termi-
nal and replace it with a new one of the same type (alkaline).
After changing the battery, relocate the connected battery in the
battery compartment and carefully reclose the housing as desri-
8
bed previously but in reverse order. When closing the battery
compartment, check that the cables from the connecting termi-
nals are not jammed. If the measuring device is not used over a
longer period (more than 60 days), remove the battery and store
separately.
Important!
Never use the measuring device when open! Potentially lethal
hazard!
Remove used batteries from the measuring device, since even
batteries protected against leakage can corrode and release che-
micals liable to damage health or damage the battery compart-
ment. Used batteries must be handled as hazardous waste and
must be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner
(collecting points).
4.2 Setting Up, Basic Settings
Set your clamp-on ammeter to the measurement desired by tur-
ning the knob. Since the device does not include an automatic
off switch (Auto Power Off), it needs to be switched to „OFF"
after use in order to save the battery.

5. Making Measurements

5.1 General
When measuring current and voltage, the additional function
„Peak Hold" can be activated/deactivated by pressing the button
thus marked. When switched on, the symbol „HOLD" is displayed
top left in the display. With this additional function, the highest
occurring measurement value is automatically saved. This function
is appropriate, for example, in measuring starting currents of elec-
trical machines or to register surge voltages in circuits. The „fro-
zen" measurement value remains displayed until the function is
deactivated.
