5.3.2 Instructions for Measuring AC Voltages:
a) Set the measurement function switch to 200 V or 600 V when
measuring voltages.
b) Connect the measurement probes to the measurement
object (load, voltage source, circuit, etc.). Please study the
figure shown below.
measurement object
Important!
Each voltage range has an input resistance of 10 MΩ (AC range:
parallel to < 100 pF). The AC voltage input is AC-coupled.
5.4 Resistance Measurement and Continuity Check
Important!
Make absolutely sure that there is no voltage across any of the
circuit components, circuits, and measurement objects you are
measuring.

You can use this function to test no-load cables, fuses, circuit,
etc.,. for continuity acoustically. Carry out the measurement as
follows:
a) Please observe Section 5.3.1 of these instructions (connection
of measuring cables). Set the measurement function switch
to „200 Ω „. Manual range selection is not possible.
b) Next, connect the measurement probes to the measurement
object. If the through resistance is less than 15 Ω, there is an
acoustic signal. In the continuity check, cable resistances of
no-load cables up to 200 Ω can be checked/measured. The
resistance value in the display always relates to the measure-
ment section (circuit paths/components) between the test
probes. It can thus happen that you do not measure the resi-
stance value of the resistance built into the circuit corre-
sponding to the color code (color rings) of this resistance.
Important!
When measuring resistances built into circuits including Si-tran-
sistors/diodes, the test voltage of the 200 Ω range is sufficient
to switch this semi-conductor. This may result in errors in the
measurement values.
The resistance of the measurement cables is normally negligibly
small (approx. 0.1 to 0.2 Ω). However, this low value, even in the
200 Ω range, may lead to inaccuracies.
When carrying out measurement of resistances, make sure that
the measurement points you touch are free of dirt, oil, solder or
similar, as such impurities can result in errors in the measurement.
If „OL" is displayed, you have exceeded the measurement range,
or the measurement section has been interrupted.
Important!
Never measure loaded capacitors. This could irreparably damage
your device through a possible discharge.
