The system
has
the ability
to
memorize CD numbers
together with their respective
cue points. This process is called disc recognition. The corresponding data
are
stored in
an internal list
(EEPROM).
Any CD entered
will be stored on the top
of
the list, and all others will be pushed down one slot. lf the
CD
is
already stored
in
the list, the corresponding slot will be cleared. This way seldom used CDs
will
wander
down the list and will eventually be pushed
off
(if
the
capacity of the list
is
exhausted).
The
disc recognition key [32] enables disc recognition,
but
only for the
player
currently
in edit mode.
When
the function is enabled the corresponding
LED
will
become active on
the
command module. The controller
will
update
the
cue
definitions
in
the list. All cue definitions entered whilst the
disc recognition
process
is
disabled
will not change the
list.
The
controller
will
maintain
its
own totally independent
list
of
stored
discs
(capacity
=
254 CDs). This
will in no way be related
to the list stored
in
the player
(caPacitY
=
100 CDs).

The
volume
+
/-
keys [36] allow
to
change the level
of
the monitor speaker.
Pressing
both volume keys simultaneously will allow
the user to
mute
the volume
of the monitor
loudspeaker.
This will have
no
influence
on
the volume of
the
players. When
the
keys
are pressed,
the actual setting will be
memorized. When
both
keys
together are pressed
the next time the memorized value will
become
valid again.
