Please make sure that only your authorized Profitec-dealer connects the machine to the
•
water supply and installs the pressure regulator.
Proper instructions by your dealer as to the use of the Pro800 is imperative.

To avoid calcification of the machine, a water-softener is recommended. Regarding a
•
regular prophylactic descaling of your machine, follow the instructions in chapter "7.3
Prophylactic descaling" on page 29. For the descaling of machines in use with direct water
connection, please contact your specialised service dealer.
The residual water is disposed off periodically by emptying out the water drip tray. Alternatively, you can
hook the machine directly up to a water drainage. Please proceed as follows: Remove the sealing screw in
the drip tray and fasten the drainage container to the rim below the drip tray. Connect a suitable hose (not
included with delivery) to the drip tray and to an already installed drainage syphon.

FIRST USE

5.1 First use
Read the instruction manual carefully prior to operating the machine.
Prior to starting the machine, check if:
• the steam and hot water valves are closed.
• the machine is switched off. (Power switch in the vertical position.)
• the power cord is disconnected.
• the drip tray is inserted accurately.
Now you can start up your machine:
Water tank machine or machine in use with water tank
1 Lift the cup warming tray.
2 Take out the water tank and rinse it thoroughly.
3 Fill the water tank with fresh water deficient in lime, place it back into the water tank guides and replace
the cup warming tray.
4 Plug your machine into an outlet. Switch your machine on by placing the metal switch into the upward
position. Now the boiler is being heated and the green signal lamp lights up. The pump is activated and
fills the boiler with fresh water.
5 Since much water is used for the initial filling of the boilers, the water tank has to then be refilled with
water.
6 As soon as the steam boiler is filled with water, the pump will become silent and the PID-display (below
the drip tray) will show the current temperature of the boiler (reg. item 3.3). When the fresh water in the
water tank drops to a certain level, the machine turns off the orange signal lamp and the PID-display
goes off. You now have to refill fresh water. The machine automatically heats up again.
7 Please wait until the boiler pressure gauge indicates a value of about 1.0 – 1.25 bars.
8 Manual boiler venting is not necessary because the Pro800 contains a professional Anti-Vacuum valve,
which vents the boiler during the heat-up phase.
9 The machine is now operational. To always have pre-heated cups, place them on the cup warming tray
and start enjoying your coffee.
Machine in use with direct water connection
1 Plug the machine into an electrical outlet. Turn the machine on by placing the metal switch into the upper
position. The coffee boiler is now being heated and the green control lamp will come on. In order to turn
on the steam boiler as well, please press the switch located under the drip tray to position '1'. The
orange control lamp now lights up. Caution! Please make sure that the switch for the direct water
connection is in position '1' (image 2). The machine is now on. The boiler is filled with fresh water
through the pressure in the hose.
2 As soon as the boiler is filled with water, the PID-display (below the drip tray) indicates the current water
temperature (reg. item 3.3). Please wait until the boiler pressure gauge shows a value of about 1.0 to
1.25 bars.
3 A manual boiler venting is not necessary because the Pro800 contains a professional Anti-Vacuum
valve, which vents the boiler during the heat-up phase.
