Warning:
Do not feed the saw blade into the material until it has fully come up to the set speed
or serious injury may result.
Sawing metal
Use a sharp blade specially designed for cutting metal. Use cutting oil* for cooling and
lubrication while cutting metal. Do not overload the saw – let it work at its own pace.
* Different materials require different lubricants/coolants.
Overload protection and other safety features
The reciprocating saw/battery has a number of safety features that prevent damage to
the reciprocating saw and battery during use.
• During short high-load situations the overload protection may switch
the reciprocating saw/battery off. This protection resets automatically.
Release the trigger, wait a few seconds, ensure that there is no load and restart
the reciprocating saw. The reciprocating saw should now function normally again.
• During high-load for extended periods the overheating protection may switch
the reciprocating saw/battery off. The protection resets itself but the reciprocating
saw cannot be restarted until it has returned to normal operating temperature.
Let the reciprocating saw cool before resuming work. Do not expose
the reciprocating saw to direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Doing so could
cause the overheating protection to trigger.
• The battery has a deep discharge undervoltage protection which operates
when the battery becomes discharged. The deep discharge protection turns
the reciprocating saw off automatically. The battery then needs to be recharged.

Care and maintenance

• Keep the motor ventilation openings free from contaminants.
• Clean the exterior of the reciprocating saw by wiping it with a damp cloth. Use only
mild cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• If the reciprocating saw is not to be used for a long time, the battery should be fully
charged before the tool is stored away.
• Store the reciprocating saw in a dry place out of children's reach whenever it is not
to be used for a long time.
