3.1 Config

Encoder function
The sensor is in the SSI mode.
The sensor is in the boot loader mode for the first
10 s (installing new firmware enabled), then it
changes over to the service mode.

must be applied to the Config input for at least approx. 1.2 s in order
to avoid erroneous activation of this function by short-time interfe-
rence signals.
sensor will first change over from the SSI mode to the so-called boot
loader mode for 10 s. Now, the sensor can be programmed with a new
firmware. Only competent professionals should carry out this type of
programming! Upon termination of the boot loader mode, the encoder
will be in the service mode. The sensor can be parameterized and que-
ried for status information via the RS485 data interface which has now
turned bidirectional (D+, D-), (see chapter 9.2).
