Data format
The SSI data are present (as two's complement) either binary-encoded or
Gray-encoded (default = GRAY). The data is output in a 24-bit format right
aligned. Bits 25, 26 and 27 are intended for diagnostic information. Addi-
tional bits are output with "0".
SSI cycle
The number of SSI cycles must be between 17 ... 31 cycles.
Monoflop time
Typically, the monoflop time is 25 μs. After this period, a new position
value query can be started immediately.
Cycle frequency
The minimum SSI cycle frequency is 50 kHz, the maximum SSI cycle fre-
quency is 750 kHz. The maximum cycle frequency is reduced depending on
the cable length (see table).

Counting direction
The sensor shows ascending numerical values if it is moved towards the
plug connection. This feature can be changed via a command inside the
service mode (see chapter 8) (descending numerical values when moving
towards the plug connection).
