Problem
Amount brewed is too little / too
much.
'DE-SCALE' on LCD screen.
Water is leaking from the back of
the coffee brewer.
Brewing cycle finishes before the
ready signal.
Steam escapes during grinding and
brewing.

Possible Reason
There is excessive scale build-up
affecting the performance of the cof-
fee brewer.
The volume calibration needs to be
reset.
The water tank was filled once the
coffee brewer had already started a
brewing cycle.
The programmed brew sizes are
approximate only. Actual amounts
may vary due to the type of filter
used, the coffee bean size, roast,
blend and freshness, or amount and
type of pre-ground coffee used. The-
se factors affect the amount of water
retained by the coffee grounds.
There is excessive scale build-up
affecting the performance of the cof-
fee brewer.
Water tank is overfilled.
Water tank is leaking.
If using the gold tone filter, this is
normal. The total brewing time dis-
played on the LCD screen is calcula-
ted using paper filters. Coffee passes
through paper filters slower.
This is normal. The rear steam vent
is releasing steam.
The Solution
De-scale the coffee brewer. See: ›De-
scaling the Coffee Brewer‹.
Recalibrate the coffee brewer by
flushing it twice. See: ›Flushing the
Coffee Brewer for First Time Use‹.
Always fill the water tank BEFORE
starting a brewing cycle.
Remove the 'DE-SCALE' icon by press
and hold the STRENGTH button for
5 seconds, then de-scale the coffee
brewer. See ›De-Scaling the Coffee
Brewer‹.
Do not exceed the 12 cup maxi-
mum. The coffee brewer will beep,
when full and the water level float
will rise to indicate the maximum
level. Carefully dry the coffee brewer
and working space.
